Like wood, brick is one of the natural building materials and brings positive properties into the house: durability, “breathability” and a healthy living environment. Old masonry – and also some modern bricks – is only energetically not up to date. STEICO protect 037 is an innovative natural insulation system.
STEICO protect 037 insulation boards are made of natural softwood and therefore have all the advantages of the natural building material wood. STEICO protect 037 is therefore the ideal insulation for everyone who wants to combine high-tech with healthy living and climate protection. Of course, the wood for STEICO insulation comes from responsibly managed forests that are certified in accordance with the strict rules of the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) or the PEFC®.

Low thermal conductivity means higher insulation efficiency. With a thermal conductivity of only λ D 0.037 [W / (m * K)], STEICO protect 037 has the best value for facade insulation with natural insulation materials. This enables particularly efficient insulation solutions to be implemented. With STEICO protect 037 you achieve optimal structural heat protection and create cozy warmth in winter.
Who wants to live in a plastic bag?
STEICO protect 037 insulation boards are open to diffusion, ie they are vapor permeable and moisture regulating . This is how STEICO facade insulation protects the house like a good functional jacket: moisture stays outside and moisture can escape to the outside. In contrast to some rigid foam insulation, which traps moisture and can possibly increase the risk of mold.
Insulating with STEICO means saving heating costs and protecting the climate. A typical facade renovation with STEICOprotect 037 stores as much CO2 in the wood fiber insulation panels as a small car releases over 100,000 km. This CO2 is removed from the atmosphere in the long term.

We are against green facades – the power of nature
Thermal insulation composite systems with STEICO protect 037 insulation boards offer natural protection against algae and moss on the facade. The secret is their relatively high bulk density (volume weight). During the day, the wood fiber insulation boards absorb the warmth of the day. Due to its higher mass, the facade cools very slowly in the evening, the surface remains warmer than with many conventional insulation materials. On the other hand, only a little humidity condenses on warm surfaces – the facade remains significantly drier. And without moisture, algae and moss are deprived of their livelihood. This is also confirmed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics, which uses insulating materials made from renewable raw materials – such as STEICO protect 037– examined. The result is that the use of insulating materials made from renewable raw materials significantly reduces the risk of biological fouling of the facade with algae and fungi.
Security and protection
STEICO protect 037 insulation boards are hydrophobic, ie water-repellent. Rain just rolls off. During the construction phase, the insulation boards can be exposed to the weather for up to four weeks – enough time for the plaster application

Excellent insulation properties in winter
The so-called lambda value (λ) is important for protection against the cold. The lower the value, the better the insulation performance. With a nominal value of λD 0.037, STEICO protect 037 has the lowest thermal conductivity that can currently be achieved with facade insulation made from renewable raw materials.
A lower lambda value allows thinner insulation layers and enables greater energy savings.
Proven fire protection
In the event of a fire, STEICOprotect 037 insulation boards produce little smoke. The insulation boards do not melt and do not drip burning from the facade.
Very good sound insulation
Where insulation systems made of rigid foam can even degrade sound insulation, STEICO protect 037 insulation boards make a valuable contribution to a quiet living atmosphere – thanks to their special fiber structure.
